Searching on SEEK Commercial

SEEK Commercial has many search options to help you find your perfect business:

• Quick Search
• Advanced Search  

Quick Search

Use Quick Search to get an initial list of businesses to view.  You can enter just one keyword, a few keywords, or fill out all the categories to get the results you’re after. While all the categories are optional, the more criteria you enter up front, the more specific your search results will be.

To make multiple choice (e.g. two locations), or denote the freshness (e.g. today’s ads only), use the Advanced Search.

1. Click the HOME tab:

2. Type the keywords that define the type of business you want. Keywords can be particularly useful if you have a specific business or name in mind. Click on the ‘Search tips’ hyperlink if you would like to find out how to make the most of keywords.

3. Select the Location where you would like to own a business.

4. Select the Industry of the business you want.

5. Select an Investment level, the amount you wish to pay for your business.

Select the type of opportunities you want to see, Businesses for sale only (no franchises), Franchise resales only (franchises that currently exist) or New franchise opportunities only (Franchise opportunities that don’t currently exist, otherwise known as Greenfields). 

6. Click on SEARCH to display all the businesses that match the information you entered.

Advanced Search

Use the SEEK Commercial Advanced Search when you want to:

• add more search criteria    
• select more than one item in a list (e.g. two locations)

3. Enter any keywords you want to use in your search. Click on the ‘Improve your keyword search’ hyperlink to find out how to make the most of using keywords.

4. Choose one or more options from Location, Industry, Investment level and Opportunities.

To make more than one selection, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while you click on each option.  Selected options will be highlighted.  To deselect a selected option, click on the option to remove the highlighting.

5. Then make your choice from the Show me businesses listed, such as ‘last 30 days’ or ‘today’.  You can only make one selection from this list.
